On my Lease starting this year... Seems the Hot Shot young Bucks were placing Internet Cams on all the biggest , Fresher trails and sitting around the Camp at night watching Live action. Come dawn their were 10 dogs running the hottest trails. Old timers didn't like that much so Bamm...no more cams. I hunt the Still Hunt areas so I just painted over my Club numbers on my Cams and put them out anyways. I only run maybe 2 on the Club anyways..

Lots of that going on.
Someone gets a big one using cam and now we gotta ban cams to stop folks from getting nice bucks.
People are azzes.

A spread out daisy chain of trucks at 5 am. Laying down fresh tire tracks for the next guy to check. Hot coffee, a honeybun and chatting on the radio. Watching the sun wake up at 3mph in 4low. That’s a big part of what I miss anyway. Maybe those old timers aren’t as pissed off, as they are encouraging this generation to get their heads out of their ass( and phone)?

We used a piece of chain link to drag the roads. A lot of the roads have been lime rocked and tracks can’t be seen. Technology has evolved.

I’m happy that some “young buck” is still running dogs. Can’t blame them for using the latest technology. I don’t have anything against trailcams but, all the simpler things that get lost along the way. I recon I’m just old.

Time and the hunt has certainly evolved. However, a campfire still warms and stirs our souls same as when I was a youngster listening to dad and the other hunters. Once the folks are in camp, the dogs fed and watered or our stand hunters back in, the night, camp dinner, laughter, sparks rising upwards, time kinda reverses and we’re all kindred. I hope it lasts and lasts for the young bloods.

Not a fan of these “cell or live action” cameras and I wish they would ban them on public land. I used to build trail cameras before there were any commercial choices on the market. Nothing more exciting than have to pull the film roll out and wait an hour to see what was roaming the woods.

I'm on the 2nd largest Dog Hunt Club in the Country..Right across the Highway is the # 1 . I'm not a Dog hunter but most of the folks round here sure are. I really enjoy all the kids and wife's hunting with their Dads. It'd be a shame to see this Tradition gone...and like I said., I'm a still Hunter. Let slip the dogs boys..He's a good un in that swamp..Bust him out.

Im sure some got upset when those older guys started using CB radios to communicate about the hunt. Technology evolves. Evolve or die.....

Wish folks could just mind their own business. Too worried about what everyone else is doing.

Did they vote on it, or was it an executive action?

Did they vote on it, or was it an executive action? Think it was a fish and game thing. No voting for stuff like that.

Spot lock trolling motors are cheating , sonar is cheating , crossbows are cheating , feeders are cheating. Outdoorsmen can truly be their own worst enemy.

Hunting just isn't what it use to be.
To many people worried about what someone might shoot in stead of them.
I say fuck em and run cameras.

Automatic Expulsion from the Club if your caught running cameras. No voting on this...The Board makes the rules not the members. I stay away from the Dog hunt areas , have 9 Thousand acres starting at my back fence that pretty much belong to me. I'm good either way....

The old guys might have some of those. What is the fastest way to get kicked off a club? Shoot the biggest bucks a couple of years running!

We killed some nice bucks and only went a handful of times a year. Some of those guys would get pissed when we shot something bigger than them after missing out on the first month of the season. They'd also hunt the shit out of the stands we were in after we left to go back to FL.

They get into a groove and cant handle someone who knows what they are doing coming in and getting good deer. The bucks will die of old age and the guys never know about them but new guys are bad for shooting them.

The growing emphasis on horn blowin' ... er... bragging, rather than having a good time with camp buddies killing a few deer to eat will ultimately close the door to deer hunting for the blue collar man.
A few simple club rules are one thing. Having a hissy fit because someone killed a bigger set of horns is ridiculous.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to killing some does!

When I ran a few hunting leases my number one rules were. Shoot what makes you happy and have a good time. If those two rules are a problem then this isn't the club for you.
