Christopher killed Johnny's 7. The harvest went right down the toilet after the first hunt.
I just spoke to King Ray a hour ago.

I hunted last Friday afternoon and Saturday morning on my nephews permit. We drove in after work on Friday and almost killed one in the first half hour we were there on a stalk… saw another legal buck driving on Friday, a few does and spikes….Saturday we went in deep on foot to an area we have had success. It was very slow! Saw a few does , fawns and 2 yearling bucks…. When we left Saturday around noon nothing was killed so far on the second archery. 11 bucks killed on the first hunt.

Nice!.. well earned I’m sure! Maybe ole spot burner will have some luck out there this weekend. He might need to bring his 3 little barking rats to get those deer moving out there!..👌😆

Lol... I'll be out there the next weekend, after everyone has treated the place like a race track.

Yeah, being that it's the 4th hunt I wanted to return the "permission slip" but my son wants to go, so we will take a stab at it.

gonna sit in a tree friday afternnoon and saturday morning 43 yds from private property fenceline, always been a good spot for 15 years. then meeting up with 3 other hunters around 11am saturday and do some old fashion deer drives thru some heads trying to stay in the shades, since im the oldest i get to loop around the heads and post up on the backside while the 3 of them ease thru , maybe a little late afternoon road hunting/spot and stalk then back in the stand by 5pm. same plan on sunday,,, strategy baby strategy, big plans, i probably wont see a doe.

Pushing the bush sounds like a good idea…. When I was there I saw very little movement. Will be hard with the heat factor, hopefully you get some rain . I bought a backpack cooler this year, fill it with ice, drinks and a couple of cooling towels. When I start to overheat I find a shady spot to rest, and put that ice watered towel over my head…. Very refreshing!

90% sure ray the count was leading a 3 truck convoy around and around the loop on saturday, watched them pass 3 or 4 times with binos from my stand they all got out one time 6 to 8 guys and lead guy looked like ray from 800 yds away, then we had the guy with 16ft ladder mounted in back of the pickup with a guy 3/4 way up drive by few times then the full size swamp buggy with 4 guys in it passing by every 90 minutes, 6 to 8 random trucks and cars thruout the day on saturday. 2 hunters walked by around 2pm, nice guys. saturday 1 shooter buck seen from the stand out in a flag pond and i blew that stalk. sunday morning 15 deer in the morning nothing legal from stand then got call my buddy shot one so went and helped him out, nice 8 point 10 point if you count 1/2 nubs like he does. back in stand 3.45 bored at 5.45 so went for a little walk and 5 deer run past me one of them a nice buck ,few minutes later another hunter walks up and tells me he jumped a nice one so since i seen the head they were heading to we worked together and both circled the head one of us on each side, yea we blew that stalk they winded us from 100 yds away and hauled butt outa there. we walked and stalked one more 6 point and seen 12 other deer till dark. another nice guy. monday afternoon got out there around 3.30 and spotted a nice buck with 5 does driving back to area where stand is, they busted me before i made it within 100 yds. only had 6 inch grass to try to belly crawl thru and i got a decent size belly. jumped a few doe walking to stand and seen a few more late afternoon, at 8.10 pm just getting ready to climb down, still legal shooting light i spotted the buck from saturday 300 yds off slowly heading my way so climbed down and headed his way but ran outa light. 3 stalks. twenty something doe,few turkeys not the dinner island of old but still had a great hunt. ohh and as i stated before and got told i was wrong,,, there aint crap out there for hogs and i dont think i seen one spot of rooting anywhere and area i hunted was open pastures with cows, 2 to 3 foot grass, scattered oak hammocks dark and wet on the inside with scattered flag ponds a hogs paradise just no hogs, my buddy walked 8 miles saturday and 2 on sunday never seen a hog. im sure theres a few out there somewhere, hunting corbett saturday morning and my cam has dozens of hogs on it that and my buddies boys are hunting so hogs are on the hit list with 2 twenty somethings to drag. good luck everyone.
