anybody hear about this on facebook or other forum, on saturday afternoon 3.45 to be exact a guy was in the middle of a over grown field stalking a buck with 2 does for over a hour, he also had tried stalking this buck at 10.30 am that morning but that stalk was unsuccsessful due to side by sides riding up and down the levee putting does and buck on full alert. so this hunter was taking his time, playing the wind trying to get ahead of them for a possible shot he was about 100 yds away and deer had no idea he was stalking them. then 3 guys on ebikes come down the levee spot the deer and come to a stop on the top of the levee, they glass the buck but also glass the hunter in the middle of the field hiding behind a large bush between him and the deer, one of the group actually waved, thats when the 3 guys split up, 1 went all the way around to other side of the field maybe 1500 yds , 1 went 500 yds past the buck and 1 stayed put. the guy who stayed put was giving directions to the other 2 who have now ditched there bikes and entered the field, the guy on top of the levee was trying to move the buck towards the other 2 hunters but away from the guy who was first in the field, he could hear the radios going off but could not understand since it was not english they were speaking, hoping they might spook the buck back in his direction the hunter also continued his stalk but soon realized he had no shot so that when he started jogging waving his hands screaming profanities at the deer, get the ---- outa here go on get outa here ya ya ya like a cowboy on a cattle drive he spooked those deer into a full run straight into the thick woods over the levee, then turned his wrath on the 2 other hunters in the field, they didnt wanna join in any fellowship with the other hunter they just headed towards there bikes the whole time the other hunter was walking 50 yds behind them just going nutz screaming at them, then he noticed the third guy who was up on the levee was filming everything, did that stop him , nope he gave it to that guy as well. the 3 guys never said a word to the 1 hunter and only spoke spanish or something to each other they got on there rambo bikes and headed off never to be seen rest of the weekend. anyway never seen the buck on sunday or tuesday afternoon,,, giving him one more shot this afternoon since today is last day of the quota. public land, yea i love it.

When it is clear someone else is hunting, stalking game and you come upon them, stay out of their way. It sucks that the deer hunter had to run the deer off, but I believe it was the right thing to do.

Exactly what I would've done in the same situation. Its regrettable that these things happen... You'd expect common decency to prevent this kind of thing; but that seems to be a more and more rarer a quality anymore...

I've had that happen turkey hunting and did the exact same thing. I bumped the bird and gave the other hunters hell about their interference. When it is clear someone else is hunting, stalking game and you come upon them, stay out of their way. It sucks that the deer hunter had to run the deer off, but I believe it was the right thing to do. |

I had the same thing happen to me last turkey season, or so I thought. I had worked a couple of gobblers for over an hour in a clearcut. The were easing slowly in my direction and all of sudden I hear a pile of calling, cackling, any noise that a turkey might make. I'm thinking someone has slipped in here with me. The gobblers start heading in "their" direction. I figured the hell with this and jump up and flush the birds. I ease out in the cut and look down where I had heard the"noise" and sure enough they have decoys out, except it wasn't decoys, it was another gobbler with 2 hens. I screwed that hunt up and got what I deserved. I've always said that you will remember the ones that got away, more so than the ones you kill.

Sounds like we need to carry one of them air horn things.
Folks moving in on a stalk are super @$$s. Dont care what language they speak. Running the deer off was the only proper move.
Hunting using radios is illegal. Call the LEO.
Cursing them is not illegal, they broke legal and ethical rules.

I have seen that happen a time or three in Holeyland when i found some jackwagon sitting in my stand on the lanes i spent hours and dollars on. yea I loved it too, watching them take the hunters walk of shame. |

Isn’t it sad to see that happen? And I bet they’re going to paint that ethical hunter as a “maniac” just to get veiws, there’s always two sides to every story. He had every right to run off that deer and those idiots.
Last year I had a guy pulling a sled walk right by me 20yds maybe at the most and keep going. Clanking and banging the sled on everything in site. I got up and moved another 200 yds and he must have jumped a group of deer 40 minutes later they came walking by. I didn’t get a shot but I kinda chuckled inside a little.

I often get questions by PMs on a few turkey forums from non-res inquiring about public land turkey hunting s/o the magic Osceola/Eastern turkey line. I tell them that by far Florida is the toughest state for a public land hunter that I've ever experienced. I don't think most believe me. Threads such as this should be required reading. Btw - have never received an inquiry about Florida deer hunting. Most think Florida deer are all the size of the Key deer. LOL.
Like the air horn idea.

Sounds like "Maniac" Meateater got Cuban 'anulled'? , talked to a couple guys who also ran into the trio of azzholes and they were speaking portuguese and had a brazil bumper sticker in back window of there black toyota tundra. leave it to me to find the only 3 brazillion hunters in florida. they also spoke english these guys said so they where just ignoring me but thats ok at least they understood what i was screaming and maybe learned a little public land etiquette. yea i had to look up how to spell etiquette. |

That’s a good point. I hunt too many places. Most places seem to have a ban on using electronics devices to aid in shooting stuff. That might be diff w the new cell cams and as you said dog hunters using radios and trackable gps collars. That’s pretty screwy if say 4 guys can go out and use radios to get those deer in the grasslands, but if it’s legal…. Why arent the english speakers doing it? |

Dog hunters aren't generally looking at a deer and telling their buddies what bush the deer is standing next to. Pretty much just advising which direction the pack is headed.I wouldnt think those 2 things are equal but i dont know for sure. |

I don't know about the cursing either. I laid into a sneaky son of a bitch that was on a morning walk with his wife when I caught him leaning over my fence feeding my dog some "treats". I was literally just shy of going after his bitch ass and had he said the wrong thing in the wrong tone his wife would have been picking his teeth up from the sidewalk for him. I only stopped ripping his ass verbally when he said he was going to call the cops for threatening him. I told him to go ahead and call them so I could press charges for trespassing. I even offered to call them for him... but he cast just enough doubt that I questioned my actions... I told him if I ever caught him around my fence doing any shit like that again I was going smash his head in without a warning... I never saw him again.
So, who really knows what you can or can't get away in this ass backwards world anymore? On one hand I'm going to flatten some trespassing son of a bitch out on a morning walk, and on the other hand, the same son of bitch is telling me he's going to have me arrested for threatening his dumb ass for leaning over my fence and feeding my dog.
You seriously can't make this shit up! People are really so beyond fucked up these days that they can't even figure out right or wrong.

I wish I had those times to share with my son. I guess we're doing other things to make up the difference but there is nothing like killing ducks on lake Okeechobee.
