This forum suffers from the same issue as the FS Forum: nobody posts. I haven't been out in a while due to a lot of family issues, but when I get out I post. I do have one report from a friend that fished near Carysfort Light today. They got 26 Yellowtail but despite getting all the ballyhoo they wanted, they had not a single bite on the bottom. Either the members of this forum didn't fish, or they are reluctant to post their results.

I posted while I was down there this summer.
I think the issue is that people have moved towards social media over forums. I would say Facebook groups have probably replaced this format for most people over 40.
And younger than that, it’s probably all Insta and TikTok.
Personally, I prefer this format. But I can tell you my 15 and 20 year old kids laughed derisively in June when I told them that the old forum was shutting down. They couldn’t believe forums still exist.
Meanwhile — whoever is hosting this - don’t shut it down, please.

I am going to go fish Cedar Key when it cools off some this fall. Either off the dock or one of the bridges. I think a lot of people fish less than they use to. I know I use to fish two or three times a month in my younger days, but these days very seldom. But now that I am retired, want to get back in it and with my back, off the shore will be better than a rocking boat.

I really liked the reports from laxcoach; please continue when you come back down here. For me, I’m personally boatless at the moment, but like to keep up with what’s going on and live vicariously through you you guys until I’m able to get back out there. Reports are greatly appreciated from those who are able to post them. Thanks to fellow forum members and management for the resources to keep me updated during my downtime

Thanks to fellow forum members and management for the resources to keep me updated during my downtime I look at the Deerfield pier cam every morning and it’s driving me crazy. I can’t remember a year with so few rough days. I wish I could keep my boat in a secure yard somewhere down there for a reasonable price. I would fly down once a month.

This time of year is when guides in the ‘glades either take a vacation or do some re-fitting or re-powering and I’m no different. I now have a new motor (Yamaha) as well as my first chart plotter, etc… I’ve been back on the water just long enough to start the break-in and shakedown process required… Will be back on the water with one or two night trips this weekend- then to a welder on Tuesday to have my poling tower raised a few inches. And so it goes…
You can be sure I’ll do some trip reports the moment I have something to report.
