My question is does this rule prohibit the use of tree stands and elevated platforms outside of one day before and after a hunt?
In other words, does it mean you can only use ground blinds and trail cameras for wildlife viewing outside of hunts.
This is what's being proposed...
THE FULL TEXT OF THE PROPOSED RULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
68A-15.004 General Regulations Relating to Wildlife Management Areas.
(1) through (3) No change.
(4) Legal to hunt:
(a) through (d) No change.
(e) Antlerless deer may be taken during gun seasons only by hunters possessing valid antlerless deer permits or
as otherwise provided by specific area regulation, except as provided in Paragraph 68A-15.004(4)(d).
(f) through (k) No change.
(5) Hunters and other recreational users:
(a) Authorized hunting equipment, defined for the purposes of this rule as tree stands and elevated shooting
platforms, or dogs (if permitted by area regulations) may be taken on the area after 8:00 a.m. one day before the
opening of the hunt and shall be removed from the area before 6 p.m. one day following the close of the hunt unless
otherwise provided by specific area regulations. Recreational users of wildlife management areas must obtain a
Commission-issued customer identification number and permanently affix this number in a conspicuous and legible
manner to all tree stands, elevated shooting platforms, ground blinds, and trail cameras prior to placing any of these
items on a wildlife management area. Removing, tampering with, or otherwise interfering with any label or tag
displaying a Commission-issued customer identification number on any of these items without the owner’s
permission is prohibited. Commission and cooperator staff may remove any of these items at any time if they are not
labeled as described herein.
(b) No change.
(6) No change.
(7) Dogs:
(a) through (d) No change.
(e) No person shall take deer using the aid of dogs without a valid Commission-issued deer-dog hunting permit
