I’m taking wife to beach in August and want to go offshore fishing too.
Any Suggestions? Will be near Melbourne so figure Sebastin thru Jupiter as target area.
Thanks.

What are the target species? Trolling or bottom? Charter or head boat? Jupiter has these essentially split charters that take out about 10 guests for 4 hours. They drift for kings and snappers at the same time. It's like $110 per person. If you could drive down there and take a couple of trips, it would increase your chances. If you are looking for pelagic, because of the gulfstream, the farther south you go, the closer in the fish will be - and the charters cheaper.

I'm not opposed to a head boat. 4 hr trips are kinda short it is about 2 hrs to get there, 4 hrs to fish, 2 hrs back. Kinda prefer 6-8-10 hrs fishing if at all possible. Do they all do drift boats down that way? I'm also not opposed to splitting a charter or paying someone's gas - $200-$400. Closer it is to $200 the more likely I'll do 2 trips. Worst case scenario, I drive 1.5 hr north to my boat and take it out. Then it's a 2.5 hr run from the ramp to fishing, then back and 6-8 hrs fishing this way. Just a lot of time on the road either way it shakes out. Thought it might be more fun to do some diff fishing - you-all get yellowtails and muttons down there. I get kings, ARS, lanes and mangroves mainly out of Ponce & Canaveral. Few mahi. Got no place to park my boat where she booked us to stay...just the beach with catfish, skates, and hotdog-sized whiting. Any reasonable priced marinas or storage lots for boat parking? Guess I'm not opposed to that and would get 3-4 trips anyway. Plenty of options, just have no ideas how you guys "do it down south" of here.

I highly recommend Black Dog Fishing Charters in Jupiter, 561-744-5700. Captain Bill will taylor a trip to your needs as he not only charters, he will arrange split trips for "walk ons" and will do drift fishing or bottom fishing and limits to six or eight passengers. He always puts fish in the boat.
If interested in inshore fishing, Catch 22 out of Jensen Beach is an inshore pontoon boat who will do charters or again, "walk on's" for a split charter and he slays the fish.
There are many other great guides in Stuart and Jensen Beach, although based on your criteria they might be more than your expected pay grade. Most inshore guides start at $450.00 for 4 hours and much more for Offshore. There are at least three head boats in the area although most of the trips are short, 4 hours unless you do the morning and afternoon trip. The further you go south, the deeper the water gets closer to shore. Stuart the six mile reef is 60 feet of water.
There is great inshore/near shore fishing in Melbourne and Sebastian. Huge Snook and Redfish off the Sebastian Inlet Jetty which has a fishing pier and beach fishing.
Hopefully, this helps.

Hope enough folks reserve spotst hat we go. Talked to capt and he seemed decent. Taking lil momna along If i had a place to park my boat, wife might not see me and i wouldnt have “sand in my crack” from playing on the beach. Boat is 1.5 hrs from vacation place and another 2 hrs from there to fish. 7 hrs running to fish 5-6 hrs is heavy. Thank you! Will look into black dog regarding a charter. I was fishing w fellow workers 1x a year but they’ve gotten cheap lately. Will look about going solo the week im down that way. Wife wont miss me much and i’ll fish another day.

I know, I’m late. I’m thinking completely different. Backcountry just you and the mrs. You can also find some dynamite peacock bass fishing that’s priced right. Invest time in fishing with the wife and kids and you’ll have the best fishing partner anyone can ever ask for. Generally speaking, fishing is something silly that’s also not cheap. We’re not looking to cure a disease. We’re looking to have fun.
