Caught this one slipping through the pines opening weekend of black powder. 16 inches inside but only 7 points. Aged him at 4 and 1/2.

Caught this one slipping through the pines opening weekend of black powder. 16 inches inside but only 7 points. Aged him at 4 and 1/2. View AttachmentNice deer...... Brings back memories......my first.....a spike.....Kings Ferry along the St. Mary's NE of Hilliard.........50+ years ago....... Time rushes on......enjoy and savor as it'll all be gone far too soon............. And one of the sad things is that what we consider normal and special and worthy and admirable may well be judged harshly by a future generation. Odd how that works. How happy I was, and how proud was my father and how joyous was Jose as he slid my head into the cavity to blood me, especially as he had as much if not more to do with the teaching as did dad....... And one day....someone will denigrate those men who I looked up too. The world is a difficult place................and yet......you'll have a satisfaction that those who'll be denigrating will never know, the satisfaction of DOING IT YOURSELF!

BSWIV- I agree completely. This deer was killed just east of Hilliard. Alot has changed around there in the past 25 years and the change seems to be accelerating at an alarming pace. I guess there is no place that is immune to it!
