Here is the same fucked up logic you will use next....so the true Osceola lives south of SR70, it's just not fair to us locals who live south of SR70 if the Florida hunters north of SR70 get to pick OUR quotas before we can...... Nope because those FL hunters live here, pay taxes here, buy licenses here, etc. Very different from someone living up north having never stepped foot in our state. I couldn’t care less about subspecies. I want to hunt where I live, not driving 2 hours to probably not lay eyes on a bird. Put it this way, if Joe blow from Ohio all the sudden had to apply for 5 years to hunt the public land in his county because thousands of Floridians wanted to kill an Ohio bird, would they want their DNR to allow them a greater chance at those permits? How do the big midwestern states manage for whitetails? That’s right, only a fraction of the tags can go to non-residents and it takes multiple years to draw a good unit. Nothing against out of state hunters, however our state should look out for its own residents first. Thats the same stuff the westen states are saying. Then they say tough shit. It is pretty petty imo. I have better and more successful hunts in wy and co than i do in fl. Since i like to travel hunt i voted for nr to draw permit same as they do now. I can’t seem to figure out how to get a duck permit on minwr these days either. Have more frequency drawing deer tags and i really dont care about the deer. I dont even apply for turkey permits. Cant hear em so they dont give me goose bumps like soome of youall get. Thevreturn your permit and get your points back thing was on there too. Told em they can talk about that after we can just buy pref points.

I am an old man and have tried to live by the Golden Rule, "Do to others as you would have them do to you". I don't think your chances are going to greatly increase just because the non-residents are out of the lottery pool. One thing that I believe that would double your odds would be double the quota hunts. For example, instead of X WMA having 3,3day hunts that last all day. Go back to hunting until 1pm and doubling the number quota hunts. You would still have the same number of hunter/hours and same amount of hrs for gate attendants. You would end up with more enjoyable hunts or at least that has been my experience. I've turkey hunted for almost 50 yrs and I can count on one hand how many enjoyable hunts that I have had in the evening. Don't get me wrong, I've killed a few in the evening but only a couple were what I would call a classic hunt. This is an after thought, by going to hunting half days you may discourage some of these non-residents from applying. I wish they would go back to the 1 pm close. The birds were more active with less people impact in the afternoon. on a 3 day hunt quota or non quota turkey hunt i estimated my success at 50% when you could only hunt till 1pm. since the hunt till sundown started i figure im around 90%. 100% on quota only wmas. gobblers come to the call really good between 1 and 4, silent most times but my favorite time to hunt. if i had to pick only 4 hours to hunt it would be 1pm to 5pm.

I don't see how they can ban anything on public land if it's public land then the public has right to do pretty much anything they want to do on it aside from destroying it or just you know illegal activity I don't see the problem with leaving stands and cameras in the woods that's the best way to keep up with what's going on in the area that you like to hunt during the off season that is the best way to scout for the upcoming season is to leave your stuff from the previous season now putting your name on them yeah that's good because then if they need to get a hold of you because they want you to come get it out of there or some other situation or Rises or whatever it can help prevent people from stealing I just don't see the downside to put in your names on it and I don't see how they can ban anybody from using a trail camera on public land I mean if it's public land they can't say that oh well this is a two-party State you have to have my permission to take my image or record me if you're somewhere out in the open where privacy is not expected to be had then there's no issue now if it was on somebody's private property aimed at their house that'd be different

I like the idea of not letting non-residents in on the quota hunts for the first 3 days and they should do that with all the Hunts deer included it's ridiculous how many people come from out of state and jam up our public wmas and create problems for the people that live here that want to hunt like I used to live in Ohio and one of the top 10 counties that produced record Bucks and we had people come from Clear across the state other states and everywhere else to hunt in our little County which made it overcrowded made the woods overcrowded made the game skittish ran them all out of the area they don't follow the rules when they come from out of state they don't they don't respect anything they don't respect the people that live here they don't respect the other Hunters they don't respect the property there on because it's not in their state and it's not theirs so they need to have stricter rules and guidelines especially if they want to come somewhere else and have the privilege to hunt there you come in somebody else's house you don't trash it you respect it right

I say if you want to leave your cameras and stands in the woods during the offseason more power to you but if you do it in a place like green swamp $500 for The Last 5 Years they've done their controlled burn every year since I've been back in Florida hunting there if you leave your stuff there you know you stand a chance of losing it in a controlled burn fire like I almost lost a camera I mean I don't see the harm and leaving the stuff up in the off season it's not like it's pollution it's not trash I mean what's it going to hurt and the animals that are in that area get so used to it being there that they think nothing of it during the season
