Yesterday I got up , had breakfast and went out to the shop and scrapped a few electric motors. Before noon I hit my one-hitter and was " diggin on the radio " when My son called and said it was time to jump. A young lady that we worked for before was cleaning out her dad's house and had a vintage Sansui AU 999 amp, a Pioneer receiver and a cassette deck with Dolby and a set of vintage Sansui speakers along with a few other items. All in good working condition. She asked if I would be interested a couple of days ago and I told her I really didn't need it and told her she should be able to find a buyer but I would give her 300 if she just wanted to move it. When she called she said that would be fine, so we went to pick it up. Good score as I can easily turn it over for about 2000 when I get back to doing my ebay. Might hook it up in the shop . She had a dump trailer there and we picked out a few other items and she said she will keep anything we might want and I told her that I would pick up anything that's metal or had a wire on it. Garage full of tools and a Harley there too. She said she is going to let the mechanics ( She and her husband have a new car dealership ) look at the tools . I didn't push for anything and I really don't need anything, but I like free and usually some of the best stuff gets thrown away. Was a fun short trip .

View Attachment I don’t know if it’s just me but those old receivers and speakers were better than what they market today. Even in cars. I remember buying a pioneer radio (super tuner?) and Jensen tri ax speakers back in the day. Maybe that’s why I am going deaf now. At home I had Advent speakers and a Yamaha receiver.

Yeah, I have mu jams I brought back from Germany. A QRX 7500 receiver, A TEAK a-3600 reel to reel. Sansui SP7500 speakers , TEAC 360 cassette and Sansui 2-4 channel turntable. And a few other items I picked up along the way. Lot of this stuff has a good market value even in non-working condition.
