The historian from American University, who has correctly predicted nine of the past ten presidential elections, tells Fox News Digital that one of the reasons he believes Kamala Harris will win in November is because the Democrats finally got smart and united behind her as their candidate.
In 1981, mathematicians Vladimir Keilis-Borok and Allan Lichtman developed a formula known as keys to the White House, which they have used correctly to predict almost every presidential race since 1984. Their analysis of presidential elections going all the way back to 1860 served as the basis for their formula. The 13 true or false questions that make up the keys are parameters that, if true, support stability.
The operation is quite straightforward. They are expected to lose if six or more keys, and any six, go against the White House party. Lichtman told Fox News Digital this week that they were expected to win. This also led to a prediction of Donald Trump's win, which made me virtually alone in making that prediction in 2016. Because of this, Lichtman predicts that they are going to have a precedent-breaking election and Kamala Harris will become the first woman President of the United States. Harris says that the Democrats she represents could lose at most five keys.
Now that Biden has withdrawn, the Democrats have lost the incumbency advantage. Given how things were going, the Democrats might lose the election if Biden left the race due to a major party fight and the loss of a second key. However, the Democrats eventually showed wisdom and coalesced around Harris, which helped to keep the contest crucial. Thus, they only lost one key as a result of the shift. The contest key, according to Lichtman, has no serious contest for the incumbent party nomination.
