This House of Representatives is a freaking joke. "Passage of a six-month temporary spending bill would have widespread and devastating effects on the Defense Department, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said in a letter to key members of Congress on Sunday. Austin said that passing a continuing resolution that caps spending at 2024 levels, rather than taking action on the proposed 2025 budget will hurt thousands of defense programs, and damage military recruiting just as it is beginning to recover after the COVID-19 pandemic." “Asking the department to compete with (China), let alone manage conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, while under a lengthy CR, ties our hands behind our back while expecting us to be agile and to accelerate progress,” said Austin in the letter to leaders of the House and Senate appropriations committees." www.legion.org/security/262555/five-things-know-sept-9-2024?utm_campaign=Source+Code+Here&utm_content=5%20THINGS&utm_term=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Adestra

BS.
“Asking the department to compete with (China), let alone manage conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, while under a lengthy CR, ties our hands behind our back while expecting us to be agile and to accelerate progress,”

they don't want our government to work. that's why they won't pass a budget.
yeah, go ahead ... shut down our government ... corporations will rule our lives.
that should be fun ... an artificial person with no conscience dictating how we live.

WTF. Maybe they should not have been so Orwellian and forced the vaccine on enlisted soldiers. The military could have used some of the billions of aid we are sending to Ukraine. We cannot continue to blindly print money.

we are not backing open borders.
private health insurance is lousy and a good reason to make Medicare available to all ...
digital currency ... didja ever use a credit card ... that ain't paper money you're spending
right to repair laws would never be enacted by manufacturers ... it is people putting pressure on their representatives in government that gets those laws passed
Try fixing a John Deere tractor ... they won't give you the info needed so you can repair it yourself. Gotta pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to their shop.

I've made this argument before.......maybe to the point of seeming a broken record on it............but......structure and process matter......and they give insight as to what those in power think of we who allow them the power.
And in both instances.....Team D and Team R.....they know we don't know that they can change the process, hence they play games and lead us along, and astray.
Whether in the House or in the Senate they have the power to alter the process such that we could/would have a real budget process. Neither Team will do so.
I could go on.......

Ms Pelosi could have changed it.....as could Team R Speakers......
"Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings"...... ( from US Constitution.....Article 1 Section 5 )

Blame is to be spread all around.........
