Very pleasant day on the water until one of the most disappointing FWC crew stopped us for a "safety check" on the last spot we checked. These idiots never asked to see any safety gear. We were presumed guilty until proven innocent. These jerks are the reason why the FWC isn't respected as they once were. I've been plying saltwater for about 65 of my 77 years and I've never seen a more unprofessional stop. They blocked me from my diver and almost ran over him. Checked all our catch and insisted that we let them pull our last marker to make sure there was nothing attached to it. I've always been supportive of law enforcement, but not so sure at this point.
In any event, we left the dock about 11:00 and had a pretty good bite. We started looking for bugs a little after 3pm. Caught 8 good bugs before that unfortunate incident. Hoping they are satisfied we play by the rules
