We buy the multi pack of thick bacon from Sam's Club. Put one in the freezer for later. We always bake ours on a baking pan in the oven at 350. Comes out delicious and a lot less messy than on the stove top with a pan.

I like to fry bacon in a cast iron skillet with no shirt on. My wife gets mad at me when I do, so I sometimes cook it in the oven or parchment paper at 375 degrees. Sometimes I do chaos bacon, sometimes I organize it in straight rows. It's always good. Store near my house sells bacon with the rind still on. It's damn good but will crack your teeth if you're not careful.

The oven trick sound very cool and efficient. But I like to cut a 1/3rd off the regular store bought bacon package. Leaving the other 2/3 intact. I'll place that my 3rd in the pan and get to fixing everything else. Eat that 3rd while I'm cooking.
We can call it cooking bacon.

At least half of the time I cook bacon is when I use it and the fat for making fried cabbage or string beans. The rendered fat is the most important part.

I generally use ham hocks in my greens but in lieu of that bacon would work great as well.
