Your opinion is taken for what it’s worth….. an opinion. I’ve eaten bacon that was cooked in a lot of different ways (including your preferred method), but I’ve never had bacon that I didn’t like the way it was cooked…. unless it was badly burned.

I am grateful for any and all advice in regards to cooking.
My Mrs is ill with multiple conditions and illnesses. Her cooking days are over. I try to cook for her myself and prepare food that she likes.
Her appetite is very poor. She has lost about 40 pounds and it scares me badly. I have to keep her eating.
She is going for an MRI this week. They found spots on her liver in an X-ray they took last week. I’m a nervous wreck.
Anyway she loves bacon. I’m going to try to make some for her homemade.

Thanks again. Ken Lay off the Prague powder/ pink salt and saltpetre. Nitrites and nitrates are commonly used in factory cured meats and totally unnecessary in homemade. Salt, sugar/maple syrup (I prefer turbinado) and black pepper

Who died and made you king of bacon, smoked meats, and anything related? I have at least a dozen friends, and a brother in law, who would out cook you with their eyes closed. These are guys with a $100k outdoor grill, a $100k outdoor portable smoker, and all the free time in the world to perfect their skills. All those boys are legendary at smoking meat. Come back to earth and realize no one here gives a shit about how much of a legend in your own eyes, you seem to be. Those boys I mentioned, would humble you, and you don't want to come up against me, when cooking any kind of meat, in any context, on any medium.

Been frying bacon for a long time. As said above go low and slow. I’ve had it cooked in the oven and the microwave, but like the iron skillet and I’m usually going in the hot grease with some eggs afterwards. Have bought bacon with the rind on it back in the day from the local butcher. Even the rinds got digested some how. I eat bacon in small quantities now, but cook a lot for the family and friends. I don’t understand the need to add bacon to every dish including desserts (wife has a chocolate-chip bacon cookie recipe). Yup. Love those fried ages afterward!

So we are up at the property this w/e and yeah she (not faulting) grabbed some commercial bacon. More than likely it was Bogo.
I do cook it low and slow. And have gotten pretty good at it. But I don’t pay attention generally to the brand. But I bet it’s the commercial crap doing it and throwing off my system
Still never ceases to amaze me the knowledge we have up in here
