Tip of the iceberg. I won't eat anything out of Tampa or Biscayne Bay. Sad!

I used to watch the hot water steam out of my neighbors house sewer pipe as it drained into the gulf. The house was sold and torn down.

Too much pavement and our groundwater table is too high in the coastal communities. Thirty years ago the EPA said the country’s aging infrastructure was going to need a total replacement. That warning fell on deaf ears.

I don’t know what the answer is but sewerage can’t keep being discharged into clean water As of now it will be. There's nothing there to stop it. If the City had all the plans, permits, design, permission, right of way, contractors, material, Money and workers ready tomorrow it would take years and years to get it done. That's after the years and years and years it will take to get it approved.

There are Thousands of homes along the Swanaee , Ecofina , St. Marks, Aucilla, Etc. rivers. All on septic. Scary huh. Then think about Cape Coral , Tampa , Hudson. Hundreds of Thousands of homes ..all on septic..then throw in a few Hundred Golf courses. Be glad you live here NOW..It's not gonna get any better.

The Chicagoland deep tunnel project has been going on since the 1970s and still isn’t finished.
It has to be done so it has to be started. If it take 10 years or 100 years. It doesn’t matter

I believe that has to be permitted on a case by case basis. As I’m not familiar with Florida perhaps a Florida developer would have the answers

Some are more expensive than others, but all legal and pretty easily doable on a small scale level (ie one single family home in an existing neighborhood like all the ones WB mentioned that are in flood zones). Not trying to be a smart ass just how it is.

We played hell getting a house on a lot that had about 100 sf in the flood zone.
Cost us thousands and we had to create compensatory flood area within the same firm flood map
