Thank you, that was interesting.
Probably some unseen footage of Jimmy...
Poling from the front like Flip...
All of the Keys are shot forever, you'll never see those times again
Quote of the film "We would go tarpon fishing on acid, for God's sake"...

Rte 66 series did one on where I live, Tierra Verde. I remember some of the area but even back then there was nothing here, pretty cool.

The Keys were forever changed by force in the 80s. It had a terribly dark underbelly and a lot if deaths

The good old days. Lots of them guys hung out at my mom's cousin's marina (Garrison Bight). When they filmed 92 in the shade I saw Margot Kidder and the penguin (Burgess Merideth). It was a different world back then. Everywhere has changed but not as profound as the Keys.

My buddy grew up in key west(60’s 70’s), I don’t think he has ever touched a fishing pole. There is much more history than famous people, glamour and fishing 😉. Still a cool video though, I enjoyed watching it.

SCUBA brought me to Islamorada in the mid 70's. kept coming back, met a few folk and ... well, it was an interesting place in the 70's and 80's

Very thought provoking. Some small similarities exist in a lot of other areas of our state. True characters, and what made the times, have passed on with “progress”, and everyone “wanting what could not sustain”.

Thanks Ferris, enjoyed that. I spent a lot of time in the middles keys in the 70's Ramrod Key. My best friends parents had an A frame weekend place there. Only house on that side of the block. Boy has that changed. I miss those days, not necessarily the drugs but the freedom & energy to do WTF I want when I want.

the 'live and let live' attitude of the good ole days is long gone ... but I still would not want to live anywhere else

The 60s, 70s and the 80s were a great time to be "Forever Young" .
If you weren't there it's hard to describe.
