Seen a couple references to the cold water coming in like we get most summers.
Is it here?
Ponce?
Canaveral?
Thanks.

From what I understand, if you have had a predominant strong west wind the cold water comes in.

Does that cold water cause a thermocline?

Yes there will be a thermocline, cold on the bottom and warmer at the surface. It's real tough on fish like grouper. Snapper will suspend off the bottom to the warmer water. When you have a predominant west wind it blows the warm surface water out and cold water comes in under it. I think the cold water is called the Newfoundland Current.

Bite was off yesterday and sinkers only slightly cool.
Seen mahi at like 7 miles out of ponce. 16-17 inch fish. Flying fish at 5 miles. Surface temp was 82-83 and then 86 later in day.

I just read a dive report from Canaveral. 10 days ago the bottom temperature was 62, that's pretty cold.

Let's hope it is long gone - Thursday looks like a good day to go out. Weather has been rough lately.
