I read an article today that reminded me of an action of ours some time ago.
I tell you this but know I am not seeking thanks nor accolades.
Some time ago we where pulling into our favorite Italian restaurant. And as we did I noticed a man in a wheelchair wearing a Marines jacket and a Vietnam hat being lowered to the ground. They entered (him & his wife) the restaurant a short time later and were seated a few tables away but in a different dining room. They couldn't see us.
During our dinner I mentioned to my bride "I think we should buy their dinner". She told me that "if you didn't I would of", that almost brought me to tears. Fortunatly, their server was also our server and I asked our server to bring their check to me as we wanted to buy them dinner. I told him I didn't care of the cost and under NO CIRCUMSTANCE was he to be told it was us, just tell them "Thank You"!... We weren't seeking thanks or stroking our ego's.
Our server, Philip, eventually delivered their check to us and we happily took care of business.
When we left a short time later I asked Philip if it went "ok" and he nodded yes and they didn't know it was us. Good!. As we were leaving the couple had already left and their van was gone.
A few weeks ago we went back to the Italian restaurant and when we walked in the door the very same couple were seated in front of us. Nothing was said but as we looked at them when walking by they both flashed a knowing smile. Sometimes the "giver" doesn't need thanks.

Good deal. And thank you for doing so.
When the opportunity arises, I'll do the same thing.

Kinda “paying it forward.”
A few weeks ago, wife and I were having breakfast when a very expectant mother, with a small child (3ish) was seated next to us. The little one started talking to us and was very well behaved. The mom was very nice and was making sure her daughter wasn’t disturbing us. As we left I took care of their meal anonymously.
I’ve been on the receiving end way back in the day.

I at least go out of my way to thank them. On many of them you can see the gratitude. These vets deserve a lot more than that for the way that some were treated.

That was a very good deed. You will be forever rewarded. We have done similar things. The reward is in the warmth you feel inside when you are able to do something like this. God Bless You!

I always try to acknowledge them, especially my Vietnam guys. Sometimes it's just eye contact and a nod of the head, maybe just a casual thumbs up, but we both know what it's about.

I told a Homeless Beggar guy that was asking for money at the Intersection to go to a fake Church I made up on the spot. Hope this helps...

I think the fact that you took this opportunity to call attention to your alleged behavior says everything......
