For hunting a Quota hunt without a Quota ?
I want to hunt Blackwater late season this year. It is kinda a spur of the moment hunt with my 77 year old neighbor that use to live there.
My central Florida season is about done by then and he kinda has a homesick moment..might be his last season hunting anywhere.
He wants me to go with him as backup in case something happens to him.
We didn't start planning this hunt until too late for quotas.
I got a few bucks extra...what's the Fine ?

Well, I may be misreading but from the looks of it, it appears it would be a level one violation, punishable by a $50 fine, if it's a first time violation. m.flsenate.gov/Statutes/379.401 |

Yes, 50 bucks is what I heard. Blackwater permits are generally pretty easy to get on the redraws.
The week or so before the last quota hunt use to be good hunting. This is in reference to the still hunt area, if it's like it was 10 yrs or so ago.

When you get 50 or older running isn't that great of an option, 50 bucks ain't crap to a broke leg. Blackwater has a million burnt out pine stumps, you better be careful walking in those pine/palmetto flats.

Blackwater Gen gun is a exempt quota hunt...65 year old and older you do not need a permit or hunting license for the Blackwater WMA Still Hunt Area or Dog Hunt Area.
If you want to hunt the Blackwater Hutton Area you will need a quota permit.

Bamm...I was hoping I would not need a quota..But I admit running from The Man is a lot of fun.
I could wear my old NPS uniform and bullshit my way out of a ticket..Special Survey we're doing for woodpeckers or some shit.

Looks like no Quota needed to hunt the still hunt area during Gen Gun from 12/30 to 1/26. Good luck getting your friend out there....
General Gun Still Season:
November 28-December 1, December 21-February 12 (Still Hunt Area only)
January 6-19 (Dog Hunt Area only)
Permit, Stamp, and License Requirements Quota permit (if hunting November 28-December 1, December 21-29 or January 27 through
February 12)

I'm all for busting out the old NPS Uniform and talkin bout watching the Rainbow people .

in my twenties and thirties i carried deer and hogs out on my shoulders, forties got me a game cart, once i passed 55 im driving across fields or down closed to vehicles roads or trails to pick up a deer, 50.00 fine is fine with me. if your sure its last time your gonna probably do this i would 100% go and hunt the place. i dont go outa my way to break any rules but i also dont follow really stupid dumbass rules.

in my twenties and thirties i carried deer and hogs out on my shoulders, forties got me a game cart, once i passed 55 im driving across fields or down closed to vehicles roads or trails to pick up a deer, 50.00 fine is fine with me. if your sure its last time your gonna probably do this i would 100% go and hunt the place. i dont go outa my way to break any rules but i also dont follow really stupid dumbass rules. Same concept, different technique. My grandpa taught me to clean them where they fell, debone, and pack the meat out in garbage bags in a backpack. Technically we weren’t observing the rules of cleaning that were in effect at that time. Not sure if those rules weren’t enforced, or if it was because the GFC major got to do what he wanted. |

Not sure if those rules weren’t enforced, or if it was because the GFC major got to do what he wanted. yes,,, i broke that rule maybe 15 x over the years,, the deer or hog cant be dismembered in the field, if im by myself and theres no way to drive to it,,, it gets gutted and quartered at the nearest tree, backstraps,loins,neck ,rib meat all in a game bag, then 4 quarters packed out in 2 trips most times. i think twice i was told i couldnt do that but basically ignored them. no ticket just a warning. yes i always bring the proof of sex. |
