I use the one with the piointy wire end. Mostly fish inside 75-80 ft and fish swim down on their own.
I do have the presdure expanding one too, just never used it yet.

Sharks suck. They need to open commercial fishing for them again. They are way too thick

FWC has tons of releases filmed and very, very few getting eaten by sharks. In some of them you can see sharks swimming by and paying no attention to the fish. The fish are not struggling on the way down, so they don't get noticed like one hooked, or floating around on top. Conchy, I have the same one. We have released upward of a 100 or more fish, and not seen a single one come back up, or feel them get hit on the way down. All kinds of snapper, grouper, triggers, and assorted others. It's easy to use, and anyone that refuses should have their license suspended for a couple years. Crkr, I do absolutely agree about the tremendous loss to the fish by sharks. It's seldom I would support reopening a closed commercial type of fish, but I damn sure think a commercial season on sharks should happen right now. I'm in PSJ, and deal with them EVERY trip. It won't happen until 25-30 people get shark bit though.

Google return'emright. From what I understand, it's part of the BP oil spill settlement money.

Walmart in New Smyrna is selling the release with the pointy wire and a 1# weight for about $20.
