1 for 3 on tarpon today out of Vilano, pods thick just North of inlet. Moved out to 5 miles looking for kings and struck out, couldn’t find the bait.

Tarpon are definitely on the pods. They've been hooking them pretty regularly off the JB Pier.

Start to hear the Tarpon are finally in the "River" South of the Fuller Warren. Was out on the dock (Ortega River) and saw the biggest school of 4-5" mullet I have EVER seen in the River.. Thousands strong school..

Start to hear the Tarpon are finally in the "River" South of the Fuller Warren. Was out on the dock (Ortega River) and saw the biggest school of 4-5" mullet I have EVER seen in the River.. Thousands strong school.. Just put bait off our dock so that we can start the morning with minnows/finger mullet and then go catch a few shrimp once the sun is up real good. Water is much clearer here at the house than it's been in a while......and the grass looks a TINY bit better. Plenty of big mullet around if anyone was interested. |

Tried to replicate last outing, roll up to the boat ramp not realizing it’s opening day of the snapper derby. Ended up parking on the road. Big pod just north of Vilano. Fished with 3 other boats and not one tarpon hookup. One shark, seen them rolling but the weren’t chewing. Left early not to get caught up in the ramp chaos that was sure to come.

Nice work on the 1!! We went 2 weeks ago in A PV and saw em rollin and blastin baits but couldn't but a bite.. finally got a hook up at about 9:30 when we were about to leave but rookie mistake lost em after first good run. gotta give it a few more tries on the beach
