Hey y’all,
Surprising myself this year, I drew general gun first hunt at OK and im just looking for some general information/advice as im from the east coast of S. FL and have never been to this wma before. As far as terrain goes, what can I expect during the season? I’m assuming I’ll be trekking through a good amount of water, but are certain areas drier/wetter than others? I’m hoping to do a fair amount of scouting/setting up cams but would like to hear from y’all that have hunted here before and maybe learn a thing or two. Looking forward to the hunt!

I am not inclined to give too many specific details on the Slough.... As I drew a ML hunt out there....... Which I have not decided if I am going to keep or not... Because I have not fired a ML in probably 35 years... I have not owned a ML in probably 30 years.....
I had zero preference points for ML and had never applied before. I applied for the heck of it and got it... Still considering my options.....
But in general... The slough is probably not as wet as you are imagining...... Well last week it was all wet and they had a number of roads closed.... But the entire area got about 20 inches of rain last week..
The Slough is pretty diverse.... It is a mix of wet prairies, Dry prairies, oak hammocks, pines, marshes, Natural and dug ponds. Some canals on the North side.... Some of the land has been highly disturbed.... Some has been restored.... and Some looks like it was never touched....
There are Deer in there.... Some of them NICE... you just have to find them

And trust me, I would not expect you to tell me anything more than you did! If you do decide to go ahead with the ML hunt I wish you luck, and I look forward to seeing the pictures to follow!
