so they have my buddy in an induced Coma , he has an infection ... any insight ?

If you're in a coma it allows your body to attack the issue without having to waste resources. It's the only way rabies has been cured.

Well it did NOT go well :-( I am numb The "family " came in and pulled the plug !!!

It's a tough decision to make.
I've been involved in these decisions and you do what's right for the patients quality of life, not the families.
Hopefully he had discussed this with his family as to his wishes.
I'm sure the Doctor laid out the alternatives.
God rest his soul.
