06/07 Doctors Inlet/Mandarin Point Shrimping/Fishing Report

Had the plan of throwing a few times at some spots that are typically hot and got one shrimp just inside the lake and just inside the river. Talked to someone else in the same area and he reported the same. Moved over to marker 10 and was able to get 4 dozen in 20 min or so which was all that was needed for how long we could fish. Also had 4 bonus croaker. Saw 4 dolphin rolling heading south. River is salty. Hopefully sign of good months to come. Fishing was not fantastic, catfish after catfish after stingray after stingray. One short redfish.
The next day 06/08 saw the same guy and he said 27’ inside the river was the sweet spot, for shrimp (for those days). I caught three short black drum and a short redfish.
Have a funny happy boater skip day photo but can’t figure out how to upload a photo so I’ll describe. A gentleman was launching his jet ski. I’ve never seen a trailer so crooked or far off the ramp at doctors lake. After launching he pulled his jet ski up onto the ramp far enough at least for this day that it didn’t float away while he parked. When he got back to the jet ski he realized his vest was in the truck by the time we trailered the boat his jet ski was the only thing on the ramp. I cringed watching him pull it onto the ramp.
