Friend of mine just started a company building custom wood designs with laser engraving. Some of the stuff he's done has came out really good. He based out of North GA.
I believe he just locked in a new client at a winery.

Lots of uses for toy customization there.. and folks will open their wallets up for customizing their toys.. Now other than toys, a few quick ideas pop up..more generic.. Signs, mailboxes, Belt buckles, BBQ tools, cutlery, cleavers, axe heads, pet collars/leashes, a viking theme axe pizza cutter are would be cool..then grips.. You are limited by your imagination..try different media as well.. Stone, shell, bone, wood, metal, plastic, leather, micarta..

Need to experiment, this unit can be held or temporarily braced to a wall, hood, body panel and then laser away on them.

I'm thinking more like take off parts, trim panels..etc.gun stocks and grips, bullet dress up parts for auto, bike, marine..I know someone who has a table setup for gun stocks..
Dash plaques, license plate trims, etc..
I still think viking motif on a axe pizza cutter would be cool..I'd be in for one..
See Altamont viking warrior for inspiration..

Very neat!
You can do anything. Some folks like to put their initials on tools and such. Knives... Glasses and such.

Find a line of cheap plaques and do engraving for parents/teams at the end of sport seasons. These things are becoming so common, not sure the viability of a business.
A cheap little mill would be fun too.

This one has a self activated slide tray. Not sure what it's capabilities are. And a self activated rotary tool, mugs, tumblers..... For a single image it is limited to 4.5" X 4.5" patch.

Knives, belt buckles, gun grips. Glasses/bar ware, cheese boards, auto trim, motorcycle mirrors, foot pegs, oyster knives, cleavers,
Now a flying pig on a cleaver, I'd be in for..all sorts of grilling tool ideas..
Key chain fobs.. look at national band and tag for blanks..
All depends on how involved you want to get, and equipment/software limitations..
