Hello everybody! Took me a bit of searching, but I finally found you good people. I know I didn’t check in all that often on the old FSF NW so I totally missed the shutdown announcement!
But I was kinda feeling like that kid in school that everybody tried to avoid by not telling him where the party was!😉
Will try to stop in more frequently with all my new retiree time. Can’t wait for those coastal reports. Missing the panhandle but Michigan summers are fairly pleasant.

Welcome back gander. Hope you find retirement a satisfying pastime. A retired buddy and I were just discussing how we feel we need to be doing something productive. After a life of working the adjustment does take a little getting used to. The feeling so far doesn’t last very long and is easily overcome with going and doing whatever we want.

I’ve found that I didn’t miss the classroom as much as I thought I might. It was a special kind of satisfaction to be sitting in the field hunting turkeys and watch the bus go by without the pressure of finishing a hunt “on time” to get to work!
