A couple of quotes below.....the rest linked at the bottom.
Whether this is correct I've no way to know.......
=========================
It is relevant and more than ironic that the energy density of biomass fuels like straw and animal dung is twenty times greater than the today‘s best lithium-ion batteries, and gasoline has an energy density over 50 times greater.
==========================
Using current technologies, half of the power produced by the battery pack of an electric vehicle goes to moving the batteries themselves, a basic problem for a mobile power source.

Interesting... We should apply for a Grant and study this ...We'll need new 4 Wheelers and a Tractor and Bush hog..Maybe a couple hundred acres with say 100 Head of Cattle as a test area.

Hope this isn’t too political of a post, but if this is correct it further proves that the beauty of science is that often a first selection of a solution to a problem is replaced by other technologies. Unfortunately many times the first solution gains too much traction from overly zealous capitalist and political supporters, miring a potentially more environmentally sound and affordable solution in catch-up mode without support from those that deal out the politically driven incentives.

The plains indians used to burn dried dung. Burning wood produces a lot more energy.
I sure like my lithium ion trolling motor battery. Light and produces 100 ah, just like the heavy lead/acid battery but supposedly for a gazillion charges.

The plains Indians had no forests, and no way to chop wood if they did.
"Buffalo chips" were abundant, and free for the taking.

I always read the Buffalo chips didn't smoke and give your position away to the bad guys in the story.

www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2024/05/30/the_many_problems_with_batteries_1035000.html I understood that gasoline is an extremely dense energy storage medium which will make replacing it very difficult. Subsidies in a singular tech will only stagnate the development of any true alternatives.
