Did you balk at $60+ fees and parking to sit on your butt with binoculars & warm beer for "Dead & Company"? If so, you really shouldn't click the link below without wearing a pair of Depends. The Stones have added a "last American date" in a place you've never heard of before. "Thunder Ridge Nature Arena" is in far Southern Missouri, South of Branson, near the Arkansas border. ( Table Rock Lake isn't what it once was, and the waters are no longer clear as Gin, but the fishings' not bad. ) tickets-center.com/tickets/v/Thunder-Ridge-Natures-Arena/30176/e/Rolling-Stones/4992800/?eventId=4992800&eventName=Rolling+Stones&venueName=Thunder+Ridge+Natures+Arena&venueId=30176&eventDateTime=07%2f21%2f2024+20%3a00%3a00&city=Ridgedale&stateProvince=MO&performerId=738&performerName=Rolling+Stones&cid=700409831241&nid=1&accid=0&campaignid=18087056603&vaid=12334&pfaid=3088&tagid=114&wsvar=1-700409831241+%5bgclid%7cCj0KCQjw0ruyBhDuARIsANSZ3wq4-wnTFJX2sr5JXVqfmhkkMLTcXT-nxSPJ6vTHimYNU0_LuoBYsVYaAjbIEALw_wcB%5d&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0ruyBhDuARIsANSZ3wq4-wnTFJX2sr5JXVqfmhkkMLTcXT-nxSPJ6vTHimYNU0_LuoBYsVYaAjbIEALw_wcB&random=3222322118601294702&device=c&ismobile=false&loc_physical_ms=9022871&referer=https%3a%2f%2fwww.google.com%2f&vx=0#quantity_1There's a new wrinkle that's been added, just in time for the show ... 2-tier butt-seats! That's right, sports fans,. we have the usual "sit on your butt", plus, for an extra $100, an "upgrade for your ass", 40 yards closer. Isn't that exciting news? More options! Hope I'm not wrong, but even though it's a "touristy" area, with hotels nearby in Branson, this could get ugly. Just getting in and out will be a nightmare, especially out. Parking is a long, long walk. Roads are narrow, without lighting. I wouldn't get in a helicopter at night on a billion dollar bet. Wonder if the Stones remember that happened to Stevie Ray?

The Depends concession stand should do a brisk business. π

Woodstock with walkers, canes and port-o-potties for performers and attendees alike. "Jazz Fest" in New Orleans has special seating and other arrangements for Seniors. Hope to avail myself of them next year. Have yet to make that party, or "Memphis In May". ( a much shorter drive )

The Depends concession stand should do a brisk business. π Would you put it past TicketMaster/Live Nation to have pay toilets?

There are bands I really really like. And a few I'd jump through a couple of hoops to see. However I can not imagine seeing or wanting to see geezers in their 80s perform. And there is absolutely nobody I would pay the price to see that it cost to see the Stones.
On a stones related note. There is no way you will ever convince me Keith Richard's is on his original liver and kidneys. It ain't possible. Keith has a Chinese prison official on speed dial. Keith: hello Chang this is Keith. I need a kidney stat Chang: ohhh Mr Keith I get you won wight away. Bring me prisonah 30645. BANG OK Mr Keith it on the way. Same address as Las time? Keith: that will work. Thanks Chang Chang: no problem miser Keith. Tank you for your bidness

Some radio stations have been giving away stones tickets as game prizes. Don't remember that ever happening before.

Some radio stations have been giving away stones tickets as game prizes. Don't remember that ever happening before. There haven't been reports of vacant seats. ( or excess "butt-space" on the lawns ) But, in the past, several group managements have used comps and upgrades to keep the $$$ seats looking full. It wouldn't be a surprise if similar "gamesmanship" didn't take place at some stops on this tour. Did a check of Tour T-shirt prices and found an authorized Stones item was $25 online, versus $50+ at the show.

I can't take the live concert atmosphere. There is too much waiting in line and walking, and I hate large crowds.

The only concerts that I have been to in the last decade were all in Vegas at the MGM where I can get a room comped and just walk to the arena. Itβs a two for as my wife loves to play the slots. Airfare is usually the only major expense but sometimes we have enough points to cover that. The only credit cards we use and pay them off monthly are SW airlines and MGM.

Ah yes ... the good old days ... people wandering around naked ... 1974 ...
Never need to do "Burning Man" because we managed to survive "Woodstock In Purgatory".
105 degrees for three days, almost no shade ... and an amazing lineup of bands ...
( Look up "Ozark Music Festival" in Wikipedia. )
In the aftermath, an official report of the Missouri State Senate, historic spoilsports, took a dim view of the proceedings, and in summing up the event, left little to the imagination: "The scene made the degradation of Sodom and Gomorrah appear mild. Natural and unnatural sex acts became a spectator sport. Frequently, nude women promoted drugs with advertisements on their bodies.".
