Couple other quotes and (my comments):
We are not a social impact company (None should be - make and sell your product - don't want you to tell or sell me on social stuff)
The idea of bringing your whole self to work has turned into bringing your professional self to work (OMG! We have to be professional at work? Who came up with that?)
I seriously doubt it will happen unless they exit a large number of employees who are pursuing their own agenda rather than the company’s mission (We get paid to fulfill the company mission, not our own - well, that bites. I'd like to go fishing but am working instead.)
I've been struck by the new generation and how they think they need to try and change everyone to be just like them as opposed to accepting folks as they are.
The resume i got the other day with "MS in Gender Studies" and the abstract indicating a passion for social justice, criminal justice, and fostering a positive change (for a scientist/geology position). Was like OMG! It is real - all the BS we see on TV is actually pervasive in society. Those generations are having their minds warped to think that society is in charge of social justice, that the cops are causing trouble for the criminals, and that "positive" change comes from these protests.
Pretty clueless - as covered in the article, those who tried to have a sit-down to force their hand found out, arrested & fired. Some things don't change - you wanna work here, these are the rules...

Every generation wants everyone to be like them. It isn't new to this generation. You want them to be like you.

Every generation wants everyone to be like them. It isn't new to this generation. You want them to be like you. I don't feel like that. I'm deaf, want to be accepted instead of ridiculed. Not confrontational, much closer to your live & let live type than most. There are plenty of things I don't like, but if the majority want it, then we all gotta deal with it. I'm not gonna force you or anyone to do something. Fundamental change has always began with us as individuals. If you want folks to be more understanding - you be more understanding. If you want folks to drive the speed limit, you drive the speed limit. Stuff like that. Free will kind of stuff. To stop traffic on a bridge or overpass, to go take over buildings, throw paint on priceless art, burn cities, try to dictate where business donations go, etc. does not reflect me at all. That's not free will. |

Don't screw with someone who has nothing to lose. Yes. I find myself sitting on the sidelines, watching stuff slowly change and morph. Gotta go to work so can't go protest or such. Then I pay my taxes and take home what i use to pay the bills and play with. Life would significantly change to the worse without the job and income so i again find myself B&Ming with similar old white guys and working, protecting what i sacrificed so much for. There is a line in the sand, not sure they will ever reach it but if they do, then it is gloves off. LoL! Who was ever afraid of an old white guy? and why do i care? I know I'm part of the problem but until us useless white guys rise up and agree on something, there will not be change. Fuck you money. I never did understand the phrase. That mean you have enough cash to just walk away from work, burn bridges? Buy a new sports car? Cheat on yer wife? Pay for an uprising? G. Soros has eff-yooo money and he uses it wisely enough to cause discord. |

I'm a pretty polite person in general, but I will say F-you to anyone in person, online, or whatever the circumstances. I do have money to lose. I've softened in recent years, trust me. I'm pretty sure I have "fuck you" money. That being said, I live far away in a place that ain't easy to get to, without tripping up around 1000 alarm bells. Starting at the highest levels, down to the local police, and around 500 locals, anyone comes looking for me, from the US, or anywhere, better have an engraved, gold plated invititation, or Fuck Off. And that includes any US Govt agency. I'll be tipped off before they tie the ropes for the boat, or the prop plane they're on hits the runway here. If they make it that far, They will run a gauntlet of locals and suddenly loose dogs that will treat them to a hospital visit. If you're looking for my money, or my freedom, for that matter, good luck with that. |
