Without my glasses on the hitch points for the grapple that I was replacing the bucket on the tractor with looked lined up.
And then....hydraulic fluid went to running about.
Two stops and $105 later a hose to replace the one I pinched was in hand.
Oh.......and about 3 hours of wasted time.......
PUT THE DARN GLASSES ON!!!

The wife sent me to get her an eyebrow pencil the other day and i came home with an eyebrow brush. You guessed it, i didn't have my glasses on.  |

I had cataract surgery and threw those glasses away!

Just started to have to wear readers. Didn’t realize how bad it was. Yessir! Hitting 50 marked a blurry change in life for me. Am about reader dependent now for the basics - computer, cellphone, tying knots fishing (though I can tie many in the dark blindfolded cause I night fish some), and reading stuff. Hate having to carry glasses around. I use 1.25 to 2.00 depending on what I'm looking at. Oh - get blue-blockers for computer. Makes a diff at the end of the day. |

A bunch of years ago I was watching the Braves play on TV with my fiancé and her parents. Her dad was an optometrist. Out of the blue he told me I needed glasses. I asked him how he knew that, and he told me he was watching me squint at the tv. A week later I'm in glasses. Hated them, and switched to contacts. I've been wearing them ever since.

My wife has wet AMD and has to get a shot in her eye(RIGHT IN HER EYE!!!)every couple of months.
She keeps saying "I need better glasses"
Going back to her low vision specialist next week.

Cataract surgery helped me some, but not all that much. The surgeon told me I have "epiretinal membranes" beginning in my eyes - a film over the retinas, as well as the beginnings of macular degeneration. I give thanks to a life in the outdoors without consistent protection.
Said it's not bad enuf yet for insurance to cover the surgery. For now, vision is at about 70% - 80% and I can't see the numbers on my car's instruments.
Go into a cafe from the bright daylight and I'm effectively blind for a minute or 2, then things start to show detail.
The cure scares me - they deflate the eyeball, open it up and scrape the retina, then re-full with saline and leave a bubble of air. Tremendous potential for problems there, I think, and I'm not looking forward to it.
Friend of a friend had it done and said it was a non-issue. Still.....??

I can understand your trepidation.
Every time my wife goes in for a shot (RIGHT IN HER EYE) I cringe.
You need to get in front of the macular degeneration as soon as you can.
Last visit the doc was saying they have a new study going on that is pills as apposed to the shot (Right in the eye)
But it's only for those that are not getting the shot now.
ya might want to check into it.

I hate to even have the air blown in my eyes at the eye doctor exam. I’m not looking forward to an eye operation. I'm the same way. I can't stand anything touch my eyes. |
