Earlier this afternoon, judge Merchan, presiding over the NY "hush money" case, scheduled a hearing for next Wednesday.
It will be in response to additional violations of the gag-order by the defendant, Donald Trump.
Remember, the judge still hasn't issued a ruling on the first gag-violation hearing.
It would appear that Trump is trying his best to toss a wrench into the works.
He'll do anything to stop this trial from moving forward.
( Including appearing in court wearing a Crown of Thorns )
The gag order itself is on very solid ground and can't be challenged.
( Based on the Trump gag-order approved by the appeals Court in DC. )
Any meaningful measures run the chance, however remote, that Trump will get off.
What to do? Sequestering the jury is an option, but not standing alone.
Sequestering the defendant would be the last resort.
The operators of "Trump Social" would be much easier targets.
Since the defendant is the majority owner, the Court could fine or jail the operators.
( The people who actually run the servers, their supervisors, and the head of IT. )
"Aiding and abetting" violations of the gag-order could bring vacations on sunny Rikers Island.
The trial could then move forward.
One scenario could work this way: The moment the jury retires to consider a verdict, Mr. Trump will be shackled and led away.
He will be in contempt of Court and stay locked up until the jury makes its' decision.
If found not guilty, he will go back to jail for Contempt of Court.
If found guilty, he will go back to jail to await a sentencing report.
After being sentenced, ... back to jail for Contempt of Court.
Trump will file an appeal, but will stay in jail until the appeal is decided.
There will be no need to set a bond amount ... he won't be eligible.
The threat of fines has no affect on Trump ... jail is the only way to punish him.

Gag orders are unconstitutional. That's ludicrous...trump is the perfect example of why they are not and should not be.

Gag orders are unconstitutional. Unless they “GAG” everyone involved in the trial. To simply “gag” the defendant and let everyone else speak unfettered language against him is indeed unconstitutional. No one involved in the trial has called him names.

It is not hard to not talk about the jury, the witnesses or the judge, unless you’re Farticus

Gag orders are unconstitutional. Gag order are constitutional. You are wrong again. SCOTUS and the courts have said so. Read the Constitution for once. The judicial body decides what is constitutional.

I don't know what Trump might be guilty of ..My big question is why these Folks are trying to piss off half the Country. I'd be mad if they did this Crap To Biden as well. There will be no Winners in this Witch Hunt...

There will be no Winners in this Witch Hunt... They're doing their worst because they're all politicians in the end. Not what's good for the country, but what's in it for them. Trump was just a p---y grabbing playboy living the dream. Now they're mad at him for the way he paid for some of it. Nothing to see here folks. Except that the other half of the country sees him in another light.

IMO it is all a witch hunt - they didn't do anything to any of the other former presidents or their wives (Hillary) but they are after Trump big-time. They waited til election year and force him into the court room so he can't campaign. The precedent they are setting might come back and bite them in the balls - never before was a politician pursued beyond the stupid little "investigations" that never amount to anything. Now we got court cases, trying to strip their wealth, etc. No-one would mess with Hillary, she'd have em sleeping with fishies by nightfall. Donny's just too soft for this game.

All of these cases, except maybe Georgia, started years ago. Trump has been delaying the process every step of the way. He wanted this to take place this year so he could use it as a political tool and convince you it all started this year. Most of these could have been settled already. The documents case was the easiest. When the Feds asked for the documents, he could have simply given them back and it would be over. The events in New York that began back in 2018 and 2019, took a plea deal and paid the fines. The reason no one went after Hillary or Biden or Pence is because they cooperated and kept their mouths shut and let the lawyers handle it and followed their attorney's legal advice. Trump has a big mouth and won't listen to his attorneys. They told him to give back the documents way back in 2021. If his ago wasn't so huge and he didn't think he was smarter than the legal experts, he would nto be in this mess. This is 100% all Trump's fault.

The judicial body decides what is constitutional. I dont care what the courts say, they are proven wrong all the time. Roe v Wade is a good example. If you would actually think critically, you would understand why gag orders are an unconstitutional violation of the 1st amendment.

If you would actually think critically, you would understand why gag orders are an unconstitutional violation of the 1st amendment. Gag orders are settled and have been since the 1800s unlike Roe vs Wade, there has been 100s of cases that have defined when gag orders are and are not constitutional. It would be imposible to reverse those opinion If you looked at it logically, you would see why they are necessary to protect the defendant and ensure a fair trial. Without them, an unscrupulous prosecutor could convict in the press while the trial was going on. Witnesses could be intimidated in the media. There are legitimate reasons the courts have ruled protecting the integrity of the court and a fair trial outweigh the impacts on the first amendment. Same reason video cameras are not allowed in court rooms without a judges approval, even though that is a first amendment right under free press. No right is absolute if it violates another constitutional right. The right to due process. The right to a fair trial.

Sticks and stones——————- I’m sorry you and other so called progressives are so thin skinned crybabies. 😉 Gag orders are to protect defendants from prosecutors.

If the "gag order" applies to courtroom behavior, will the jury be furnished gas masks?
If Trump's flatulence becomes audible, will the court reporter take note of it in the transcript?
If Trump is returned to office, will he be immune from citation for air quality violations?
