Serious question.....how long to cook salmon, and how do you monitor it? Thermometer ? I don't eat cooked fish, only raw. Back when I lived there, I had salmon a couple of times. Nasty to me. Raw is different story. I prefer raw, provided I know where it came from. Broil it for 8 to 10 minutes. You want the outside to brown slightly and be crisp, the inside should be moist and pink. 99% of people overcook salmon, in my opinion. and that includes most restaurants. That is the reason you thought it was nasty. it was overcooked and dry. Need to watch fish when you cook it. Rule of thumb for fish in 10 minutes per inch thick. The other way to cook salmon is pan seared. Medium heat, add olive oil to pan. Season the salmon and cook skin side up for 4 minutes, flip and skin side down for 4 minutes. Do not overcook fish. Fish cooks quick and like beef, the object is to get the outside hot enough to kill any bacteria. The inside will be fine. Thank you. So we 99% agree on the over cooking thing. I'm gonna follow your recipe.

I just don't eat cooked fish I catch them, do like you do, take care of them, and I eat the flesh raw. But that's me.

Nice. They have this dish down here called black dinner, or something like that. Is that what you're cooking and describing ? Not sure what black dinner is but the Nilaga is a Filipino version of a boiled cabbage dinner but they use beef and beef bones instead of corned beef or ham. They add bok choy, green beans, potaotes and corn on the cob to it.

With lime, and raw, my favorite.

Never been a big salmon fan. I will eat it on occasion. Had sushi last night (with raw salmon and tuna). My GFs mother requested liver and onions tonight...my GF requested green beans, mashed potatoes and a spinach salad to go with it.

The only problem with that is the dang fillets are so overpriced. It is a 5 ounce filet for $7 on sale and you can buy salmon for $11 a pound on sale at Publix

Wife has been under the weather today and suggested grilled burgers, and then 30 seconds later decided she preferred a cheese omelet. I ended up making a batch of scratch biscuits and ham and cheese omelets for us.
