Wife has a colonoscopy Friday so we went out and had a big dinner at our local Italian joint. Tomorrow her food will be magnesium citrate and more magnesium citrate I'm gonna have to sneak and eat so she doesn't get pissed

Wife spent the day in the kitchen cooking.
Cabbage and beef stew. Hot and hearty.
Squash casserole. Tasty.
Corn pudding. Sweet.
Roast carrots, sweet potatoes and butternut squash.
She made a bok choy salad but I was so stuffed from the other stuff I didn't eat any. It'll make a good breakfast.

Tonight it was a Armageddon lesson ( I'll never do that again ) at outback.. while pecan salad and Tasmanian chili tasted good it shouldn't have taken 20 minutes to get it after ordering. And soup was barely warm. It felt like eating a meal at a wedding as long as it took..and the place wasn't busy, and they ran out of blonde ale..
No way I was drinking bud light.. 50 minutes and 3 cups of chili later I got bored and left..

How do ya'll rate the Publix Prime Rib? We no longer have a Winn Dixie which was my go to for meat. I've had several from Publix and had mixed opinions.

Salmon backbones and throats.......... Backbones were brined: brown sugar, salt, soy sauce, chopped garlic, coarse black pepper, some honey and a a little Worcestershire. Throats got a bit less, just a rub of sugar and spices. As we picked the meat off the bones for use in dip we managed to get a belly full.......brutally good. And when the picked meat is mixed with mustard, capers, artichokes, Kalamata olives, green olives, sun dried tomatoes, Wickles relish......and a few other things chosen as the mood drives her......it'll be spectacular tomorrow night!!

Chicken Pot Pie filling. Not for dinner tonight, that's going to be fried mullet, fried okra, and a pot of fresh cabbage. I make chicken pot pies every year to give as Christmas gifts to close friends. That pot will make 12 8 x 8 casserole tins.

My wife cooked some spaghetti squash which I didn't particularly like so I said to her, "I'm going to take a hint from Buddy the Elf and put some maple syrup on it." she just laughed but it tasted better than before.

Publix has Prime Rib on sale for 6.99. That's whet we had. Cut one in half and vacuumed half. Put the other half (4 1/2 lbs) in oven at 500* for 26 minutes, turned oven off and let it sit (Don't open door) for 2 hours. Perfect pink 135* internal

Blackened wahoo belly sandwiches with steak fries. The "belly"........!! Odd how it is folks take for granted that the tenderloin off a cow will taste different than the rump or brisket of whatever off of the SAME cow but 'ill miss that the same is true with fish......especially the larger fish. Cobia belly........HMG.....as good as a Fall Pompano......which is different from a Spring Pompano............ Anyway......envious of the Whaoo..............

Made some BBQ chicken with collard greens. Publix had a BOGO on these and I tried them. Damn good for frozen collards and I usually hate frozen and canned collards.
