Thawing squirrels out. Plan to fry them up, and serve them to myself (wife is a no go) with rice/gravy and green beans. From a last day small game hunt.

Wynnv, that looks delicious. I keep putting off buying a 22" Blackstone for some dang reason. Swampdog, it's been years since I had some fried squirrel, but enjoyed them occasionally growing up.

There used to be a several Mongolian BBQ places in Jax. The one nearest me closed about 10 years ago. I had been going there since my early teens. As an adult I probably ate there once a week. There was another one on the far side of town that me and the GF would go every couple weeks. It was another COVID causality. Along with all the salad bars in town. I got the Blackstone pretty much for making the Mongolian and Hibachi. It works well.

As with most everything make sure all the air is out of the freezer bag and don’t keep it frozen for a long time. These were only in the freezer a few weeks. Got them the last weekend of small game, just before spring turkey season. They were really good and I’ll be making a few extra squirrel hunts next season.

Yesterday the wife and I celebrated 56 years of her putting up with me. Went to the Wakulla Springs Lodge for dinner and enjoyed ourselves. Tonight, the last collards from the garden and some ribs and corn on the cob.
