Because grand juries depend on prosecutors who will hold cops accountable and they clearly haven’t done so. They are on the same team Not really. Prosecutors can’t stop grand juries from investigating or indicting who they want. Who brings the cases to the grand jury's attention to begin with? Is it not prosecutors or prosecuting authorities?

Not really. Prosecutors can’t stop grand juries from investigating or indicting who they want. Who brings the cases to the grand jury's attention to begin with? Is it not prosecutors or prosecuting authorities? Prosecutors present cases to them but grand juries can also bring their own investigations. Prosecutors stand with them as their legal adviser as they investigate but the prosecutor doesn’t make their decisions for them. The prosecutor’s authority is the avenue by which the grand jury subpoenas witnesses or evidence to look into. The prosecutor does what they command within the bounds laid out in the procedure. Grand jury proceedings are completely secret. All parties are sworn to secrecy and what happens in the proceeding remains under the shroud. Therefore I cannot offer any specific example of a Grand Jury investigating a case. I can only speak to the general procedures. Only an indictment or a no true bill comes out of the proceedings. The reason for this is that it gives the citizen grand jurors freedom to look into what they want without scrutiny or criticism. The origin goes back to old England. Grand juries gave citizens a way to overrule the king in criminal prosecutions at the community level.

Calls with law enforcement can be recorded without their consent, Florida court says
An appeals court ruled the law enforcement officers have no expectation of privacy in their official roles.
GAINESVILLE — A Florida appeals court has effectively opened a loophole in the state’s long-standing law against recording telephone conversations without the permission of both sides of the call, ruling that law enforcement officers performing their official duties can be secretly recorded because they have no expectation of privacy.
The court’s decision — involving a citizen who accused the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office of misconduct — is the latest to provide new mechanisms for civilian oversight of law enforcement, even as others were curtailed in recent days by Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Republican-led Legislature.
