Taylor county has set a 45 day window for getting a pole barn or metal building permit in coastal areas. After that no more. Also heard they are going back to 60 amp services for camper sites instead of 200 amps. Others may know more about this than I do. Just trying to get info out in case somebody has land and was thinking about pole barn for future

Any thoughts. Ideas. I think rich folks are moving there and want it more like Panama City. Instead of a fisherman type place. TRT I know you are in the neighborhood there. What say you

From a Local... I see mostly Georgia Folks coming here. Family's , Fishing Buddies...Nothing scary. I'm glad they come here , always buy you a beer at the tiki cause their just here to have fun. Rich Developers have a problem here. 1 is there is No Beach..None Beaches Sell...Marshes forever do not. This place has waters as clear as the Keys , Grass Flats for miles...and No Beaches..I'm glad for that. The Doctor that invented the Heart Stend tried to build a Golf Course and Marina. He failed..No Wetlands Digging. I'm glad. I asked my neighbor at that time ..Lot's of jobs , Lot's of money.. He said , No Thanks... I kinda agree. Leave us out of the rat race please. Taylor County is just blowing smoke..Their a small-Town board and running scared because of Insurance.

In the last 2 years they have put up a pile of metal truss pole barn kits from Keaton to Dark Island with a boat load of camper trailers under each one, I knew it was just a matter of time before some started whining about all the campers, also with the mill closed and not looking like it's going to re-open the county has been looking at every piece of property to see if they can squeeze some more tax money out of them. The 800 square foot hunting camp I built back in 2018 was about $700 per year has gone up to a little over $1900 per year, these days you gotta pay to play.

What say you We had a camp there until about a year ago. I don't think rich folks will be a problem. There's a very limited amount of water front property and the no see um's and mosquitos will eat you alive. The fishing has been really good for many years, and still is very good, but the no beaches is gonna keep the rich folks away.

TRT you brought back memories. Land was 6-8 grand an acre when that Dr Pruitt was going to build new marina. Quickly doubled. Need bigger noseeums
