I lived right off the Trail for years..It was a common practice for Collier S.O to run them in the evening.
Catch the Miami crowd hauling ass back to the City often.
Good moneymaker..

A South Florida Cougar traveling at any legal speed limit,northbound, purposely captured and headed north for release is likely a good speed limit.Won't attract law enforcement.

Now a cougar speed zone. Hope they get better compliance than all the other speed zones no one is able to enforce. Had a guy pass me in a school zone last week as I was traveling the speed limit. But cougars are pretty darn important…With inflation the price of relocating more “Florida” cougars in from the west is so high, we need speed zones to keep the wandering felines safe.
I predicted a few years ago, the big problem with all the relocation efforts north of the glades, will be difficult because of the busy roads. Even the wildlife corridors have to go over or under a highway.

Even the wildlife corridors have to go over or under a highway. f ing exactly, if fwc has the time and man power to be sending officers to texas to help watch illegals as they waltz across the border and do nothing, and now setting up speed traps in cougar zones maybe they could help out with a few speed traps at our kids school zones as haitians and others with very little experience driving just drive on thru at 60. |

But if you are going slower...... you SHOULD be able to brake and avoid hitting the panther.....

if you read the reports almost every cougar hit was running across the road and appeared suddenly, most people dont even know what they hit . they dont stand in the middle of the road like a possum or coon. 65,55,45,or 95 it dont matter theres no shortage of them.
