I must have over 25 turkey calls and yet I got a new Lynch slate in my Christmas stocking and bought a new mouth call last weekend. I can’t seem to stop… The most I use on a hunt is typically three. A slate, a scratch box and a wing bone. I haven’t worn one out yet. I have a pretty good size plastic toolbox full of the darn things. Anyone coming through Polk county let me know and I’ll give you a grab bag of calls for your kid.

Nice offer and I know the feeling. I typically only use a diaphragm call these days... less crap to carry... but I still, have difficult time not bringing a slate and a box call, just in case... I have a large collection of duck and turkey calls but I've handed them over and they are now my son's problem.

i got over 50 slate, glass and box calls some where expensive custom made by this guy in alabama or that guy in kansas but still to this day i use a over 12 year old raspy ol hen slate call that cost me bout 20 bucks, thing gets better with age. never could master the diaphram due to a dip in my lip, damn near choked to death a couple times and gave it up. the diaphram not the dip.

Found an old box call at Goodwill in Spring hill a couple weeks ago. It doesn't sound the best but the plan is to kill a turkey with it this year just for fun. Well attempt to

Some of those old box calls are worth big money. You never know what you might run into at thrift stores or yard sales.

It looked like it was pretty old and well used. I'll snap a picture of it when I'm up at the farm next week or two
