Plan B!

Plan B! Plan A was to order live pilchards from Stuart Live Bait and fish the inlet area. No Pilchards, although surprisingly Snook Nook had Shrimp after they thought there wouldn’t be any until Thursday. Late June, July, and August, Shrimp are almost non-existent. Pilchards are almost as bad, due to the dirty water pushing the bait offshore. Plan B was to leave the dock at 9 with Tom to the beginning of the outgoing tide and fish the St. Lucie River. First dock, I landed 2 Snook and Tom landed 1 Snook. We worked other docks and I caught a Ladyfish and we saw a small Alligator Gar and a freshwater Tilapia. We ran to the detached jetty on the outside where we saw some huge Tarpon busting bait, but not our baits, although I caught a Blue Runner. Came to the inside of the jetty next to a “Beer Can Fisherman” (Beer Can Fisherman is someone that anchors the boat, throws out some type of bait and sits back and drinks beer). Needless to say they weren’t happy when I boated a Snook on my first cast. They were staring pretty good as I landed 2 more and Tom landed 1. Our hospitality ran out and we fished the Beach (Saw 2 Manatees), Sailfish Point and the Manatee Pocket (Saw a Pod of Dolphin) without success and called it a day at 4. Total for the day 7 Snook, 1 Ladyfish, 1 Blue Runner, a bunch of Snappa and too many Catfish along with dehydration. It was scorching HOT! Attachments:

Another good one. Thanks So where do the shrimp come from this time of year for you guys? Shipped in? We have no shrimp on the Treasure Coast - Stuart/Jensen Beach, they come from Daytona, Jacksonville, and Tampa. Growing up I learned which isn't true, no shrimp in months without an "R", June, July, and August. May doesn't have an "R" but there is shrimp so that blows that theory.
