Interesting how it happens.......the bucks completely disappear. Not that they've been shot as our guys haven't taken 6-7 total, hardly scratching the surface but rather that even from the cameras we have scattered about for security we're getting only a lot of does. One spot where we had a couple of spikes, a four, a funky looking seven and three or four better deer, there we've not even gotten the spikes in almost two weeks.
But......and you can't be 100% sure of this, but usually, coinciding with when the deer rut over on the Panhandle and South Alabama we'll get a little bump of activity here.
And because the leaves will be off of everything......it's a good time to hunt a front or just go for VERY SLOW walks.......

Yes sir most everywhere I hunt the bucks tend to go on a different pattern when the season opens. They could be hitting a different natural food source, or if folks are out and about, they stay away from sites that get visited a lot by hunters. Do your hunters ride side by sides to the stands?

Most of our hunters are really great guys.....but....the world has changed.......and I will leave it there....................

Our Rut is long gone.. I'm Scouting with a Rifle right now. don't care if I bust them out of their Beds. Sat watching 2 road crossings for several hours this morning and didn't see squat. Got up and walked thru where I was watching and had 5 does run off. Thats ok...I now know where they sleep.

I with TRT scouting with a gun. Over the years I have learned more from deer that I didn't kill than the ones that I did kill.
