The last several times I've used the non tubed hog casings, you know the kind you have to untangle, rinse and fight putting on the stuffing horn,
I tried the pretubed ones, wow..far easier, it took the tedious aspect of stuffing sausage away. I won't be using the non tubed kind..

I still get a hank from our local market. Yes it is quite a bit of work but I know it’s clean ( because I flush them again)and I can cut any bad spots out during washing. I have yet to find a packaged casing that was not noticeably tougher.

Issue for me wasn't washing inside and out it was more keeping an end open and threading on stuffing horn.
