It never fails. One season I cleaned out the small chest freezer to be ready for the deer and other small game. Didn’t have a legal deer on the same piece of woods in multiple counties I hunted. All that freezer had was squirrels, ducks and doves. So this year I gave some venison to sister and bought a new upright freezer to fill with natures deer bounty. Now my superstitious mind is messing with me. I bet it’s gonna be full of store bought before the season is out. The great Jinx is on…

That is as bad as putting all the bats away before the last out, Swampy!
Or going going fishing with bananas on the boat.
Or leaving the dock on Fri to go fishing.
Good luck filling it this season.

going hunting or fishing with a exact time you need to leave, gotta leave by 11 am to get home for something and fish wont start biting till 10.30 . gotta be outa the woods and in your truck by 7 pm to get home,showered,dressed for a big date night or movie, you will shoot a buck or hog at 6pm that takes you 2 hours to get back to the truck. never fails thats why i can never go fishing or hunting with a exact deadline id rather stay home. not sure if this is a superstition or a jinx

Putting a timeline on a hunt for another event almost guarantees killing a deer or getting stuck and missing the event. |

There is a 6+ year old 1/2 bottle of yoohoo in my spare fridge. If we hit a dry spell, it goes for a ride in the cooler. Works every time ( sometimes 😁).

Yes and no. I don't believe in jinxes or luck. And yet, I just found myself being superstitious. When I have big buck narrowed down, I get very secretive right before I hunt him. As if talking about him will either spook the buck or tip off a poacher that will instantly descend on my spot the night before.
So I'm going to break that superstition. I'm hunting this one in the morning. This will be my first sit of the season.

We have a banana or two on board everytime we fish. My son even dropped a bottom bait with a small piece of banana and squid and pulled up a keeper seabass.

On my buddy's boat they drop a quarter into the water before the first line goes in. Don’t know if it works but it’s tradition now.
