took a few months of putting in myself and 5 members of the Dicks sporting goods, huk, flo grown, salt life pro staff but finally got a redraw, after bout 75 unsuccessfuls got the most sought after general gun permit south of 60. guess the redraw system does work. 1 outa 75 aint great but i,ll take it .

I try and be selective on the redraws only applying for one's I'm sure I can hunt. Never drawn one. Sure is fun to apply though. Lol

You guys down South and Central are a Tough bunch..
After hunting down there most of my life I moved to a new area with a different Rule Book.
In fact I haven't even seen a Rule Book here...what a relief..

In fact I haven't even seen a Rule Book here...what a relief.. The Big Bend does have it's own set of rules. My grandfather had a camp in Dixie County in California Swamp. Hunted up there as a kid and young adult. Killed my first deer in front of the dogs. |

One of the biggest, if not the biggest buck I’ve ever seen was in that California Swamp. I got off one shot and that was it. Put one hound on him and the buck and the hound ran about an hour before the buck lost him in a wet swampy area. No blood. Still trying to live that one down.

My grandfather's camp was off of the last camp on the left headed towards the lake on the North end of California Swamp Hunting Club. We hunted that area as well as the loop. We killed some pretty big deer in there especially for Florida. Those swamp bucks are smart and grow old. |
