I went to the JB Pier the other day w/ some live shrimp. The fishing was pretty slow, and I caught a couple of undersized trout, undersized pomp, and an undersized black drum. Easily the highlight of my morning was when this juvenile tarpon hit my shrimp on a float rig! It made some cool jumps, I had to pressure it from under the pier, and navigate all the other lines. Somebody netted it for me, the hook came out super easy, got this quick pick, and got it back in the water immediately. It was maybe 7-8lbs. I caught it on a Stradic 2500, and it handled it really well. For those that want to beat me up for handling a tarpon out of water, I caught this fish out on a beach pier that's 30' above the water. Using a pier net was the best option, and the fish was under the 40" FWC regulation. Anyhow, here'e the pic...

They're hard to land on a pier. I hooked a few on the old skyway never got one in.
