Boys wrecked em on the flats yesterday.
Trout limit, 3 reds, 1 flounder, 1 stud seabass and more sand trout than I wanted to count.
They released several 20” gags also.
They had planned to go after grouper but weather kept them in. Ended up ok though, they are having a fish fry now.
They also survived a shakedown by FWC at the ramp, he saw 4 19yo kids and thought he had an easy ticket. He didn’t get shit😁. He actually got frustrated and walked away mumbling something about hull # spacing. LOL

He really wanted to find something wrong, and when he couldn't he started in on me about the boat letter spacing. Told him those numbers have been on the boat for over 30 years, have seen plenty of FWC stops and he didn't know what to say. |

I'm looking forward to getting my boats up to Dixie. The new property is 35 minutes from the hatch That will be nice! I spent lots of time up there in my younger days. I love that whole area. Quite the haul for me these days though, I only get up there once or twice a year. |

Nice report! 4Ward I spent a lot of time up there as a kid as well. Do you remember Bob who lived at the rocky creek boat ramp in a truck topper camper on cinder blocks? Cinder blocks are still there. Under the oaks to the left of the ramp. Ramp was dirt back then.

I do remember a similar setup out near shired. Camper must have been 12’ up.
We truck camped at cow creek alot. Early 80’s. Rode the outgoing out, and the incoming in.
My stepfather had alot of connection in horseshoe area throughout the 70’s. Good times but him knowing people out there saved our asses more than once.
I don’t know if it was just because I was a kid? But the whole place was kinda like the wild west from Suwannee to Keaton.
Priceless memories for me.

4Ward, I got to spend a lot of time over there as well. I remember there was a big rock that sat at the edge of the water right by the old dirt boat ramp. There was a 3/4" galvanized pipe that went vertical about 18" and then 90'd over horizontal for about the same length. There was a brass hose bib on the end of it. I was maybe 10 and I opened the bib and obviously nothing came out of it. Bob saw me and I asked him what it was for and he replied that is where he got his fresh water from... When we were idling the boat out Rocky Creek, my Dad turned around and said "I told you not to talk to that guy, he is crazy. He thinks he can get water out of a rock. Fast forward 30 years and one summer weekend after scalloping with my kids we were all sitting around cleaning scallops and I told that story. One of my cousins friends brought their mother who was in her 80's. She said that was where he got his fresh water and that she had seen him doing it. I replied and asked how. She said at low tide he would pile up some lightered knots and build a fire next to the rock. She said after it got hot steam, then water would come out of the hose bib and he would fill a pot of it every day... old timers knew how to get things done!
