This deer was shot by my son in Brooksville Saturday morning. We noticed it had no male genitalia. When we cleaned it there were two small testicles under the undeveloped udder. It also had one ovary and no uterus. I believe it was a true hermaphrodite. Attachments:

Did it show any sign that it had been making any rubs? Congrats on the kill

Congrats to your son! Looks like remnants of velvet on the antlers, which would indicate rubbing. If it is velvet.

Its preferred pronoun won’t effect how much it will help fill the freezer.
Congrats to your son!

There was a dried velvet remnant hanging from one antler. There was also fresh bark in the beads around its antler bases from rubbing. It was with 2 other smaller racked bucks when he shot it.

Interesting...... I wish I had a picture......but it was a LONG time ago up on Ossabaw Island during a archery hunt, and way before cell phones and digital cameras....so most of us just did not bother. Anyway.......deer had a crazy, knobby, thick, hard to describe set of antlers. None of us knew what to make of it but one of the older biologist with the Georgia Park Service knew. Read this......odd............... deerassociation.com/bucks-dont-shed-velvet/

Probably 10 years ago shot a gnarly little 5 pt still in velvet in December. No nuts, no twat, still ate good.

Did it have a cutter? We see pigs from time to time when butchering that's nuts never dropped but still have a pecker.

Thanks for sharing with the forum, very cool story. About 10 yrs ago I killed a buck in late December that was still in velvet. He's problem was that he had no nuts. I think he got hung up in a field fence and injured them and they got infected and fell off. He also had a rear foot that had a soft ball sized knot above the hoof.
