Seems FWC has a program.. Must hold Youth hunts...Check we do that. Must have a Bio guy checking your deer...Check we do that. Must have reporting rules for them...check we do that. My club had never heard of the program and I introduced them to it. They don't even want to talk about it. We have about 400 Members and some of them are Outlaws. Club full of southern Crackers..Anything bigger than a fork horn is down. Personally, I have about 600 acres that's a part of the Club but not readily accessible so it's kinda my personal area. I hate Bow Season .It's the best time to hunt cause of the rut here. I'm kinda the Overseer of my 600 hundred acres. The club is 93 Thousand acres. It's just my little spot. What would you do.. a 35 Remington beats the best Bow any day

Youth hunts aren’t a requirement of the PLDMP program but permitting does require some other things like tagging all harvested bucks and does with a state-issued tag, a written wildlife management plan, annual reporting with maps showing the conservation practices being implemented, etc. The flexibility in method of take is the benefit for implementing the increased management the program requires (there are a number of qualifying conservation practices but you don’t have to implement all of them….. at least 3, I think. Together, they do have to impact a minimum percentage of the enrolled acreage each year though).
Sounds like the program requirements are probably more than what the club wants to take on. I can’t say that I blame them. I imagine the tagging requirement alone might be difficult for a club like what you describe to comply with. It’s not easy for a club to get that many people on the same page, unless the requirements are minimal.

TRT I fell the same way. The problem is many hunters do not want an earlier gun season because of the heat, and the bow hunters want to be the first in the woods. So here we are with most of the hunters never experiencing the best part of the rut in central and Northeast Fl. I think we could do better than what we have by just moving the 5 days of crossbow season and Muzzleloader season to the end of the season, or just doing away with them. This would move gun season 19 days earlier. I really don't know way we even have the 5 days of crossbow season and Muzzleloader for private lands. Back when the FWC ask hunters if they wanted zone 3 (which is Zone C) moved earlier only 55% wanted it moved earlier.

I grew up hunting Lykes Brothers land in Glades County just north of LaBelle. We never had all these Fancy Dancy seasons. It was Dove season , Duck season and Deer season...wth Hogs you just shot when you felt like it. more of a Family Fun Days busting woods and shooting hogs of Buggys.
