Must a under 16 hunter take the place as a guest on a quota hunt permit, or can they tag along and hunt while I bring a over 16 hunter in as my guest hunter ?
I think I know the answer but have heard conflicting info.

If the wma brochure list the hunt with no exemptions, under 16 would need the quota permit or go as a guest hunter.
Exempt hunts the under 16 can hunt and you can bring your guest hunter.

This and if exemptions are allowed they can also take a deer with a minimum of one antler of 5” and not the forked horn of 3 points on one side rule. Usually is stated within the brochure. |

Now that I'm back on public land, and hunting different places than I used to, I'm tryna reacquaint myself with the array of changes between wmas.

Depending on the WMA and if Exempt Hunters are allowed during a quota hunt. You can always take your child under the age of 16 hunting even if you don’t have a quota. Only your kid would be able to hunt though, but I’ve done this a bunch of times on certain WMAs. I’m to the point that I’d rather my kids harvest something and me film it. |

Me too. I always let my kids do the shooting, and when there are no exemptions, my kids are my guests.
This particular hunt allows exemptions and I'm planning on bringing a crew with me. I don't mind sharing the wealth.
