I have never heard of a successful method of curing dogs from their fears, real or imagined. Bramble and the storm.

We have a 5 yearish old English Pointer (or Dalmation mutt mix) that is very afraid of thunder and fireworks. She notices the barometer starting to drop and the panic begins. We give her an eyedropper of CBD oil and sometimes a couple of benedryls if the event is going to last a couple hours. She totally calm after about 10 minutes - and I had zero faith it would work. Your vet can also prescribe some drops that come in an adjustable syringe that you squirt into their gums. That really is the ticket for nights like July 4th.

We have a 4 YO Yorkie that just recently developed a fear of thunder. He wants to get all up under ya or I find him in the bathroom laying in front of the shower. Just started in the last 6 mo.

Both our dogs are afraid of thunder and fireworks. Don't know why they started it.

Worked for a veterinarian in my teen years. He would start folks w scared dogs on a plan of associating loud noise with something positive like a treat. Almost always ended writing a script for acepromazine (tranquilizers).
Had one client who called a week later looking for a refill. Hadn’t been any stormy weather…
