Ruth. Welcome. If you venture to the panhandle you would be welcome to fish with our family. I’ve been told that the best fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is right straight out from our house. I have a feeling that you will be very popular on this forum. Respectfully. Ken Thank you. A bit of info, most of these guys fish about once every 3-4 years. There's only a few of us that are serious about it.

I had a look at some Florida fishing Facebook groups too, and they're pretty dead, other than those with commercial interests on FB like those selling charters, few recreational anglers seem to post about angling.  |

Most of the fishing stuff is dead. Can't get a decent report or nothing.
Facebook killed the forums but people rushing over to capitalize on a fishing report killed the fishing reports. All we get now if folks with big boats way running way far out to catch fish bragging anymore. The closer in guys keep it pretty tight lipped. Myself included.
So if you wanna argue knots or rigging bally's for tiny dolphin and speeds and specialty stuff for HST and let's not forget the guys who run the canyons and otherside for tuna. Even those are quiet these days.

Fishing reports slowed down years ago when the regulators began to use good reports to extrapolate how many fish everyone was catching on every trip out. They way over estimated the recreational catch. I quit doing reports as well as a few friends

HELL...I just moved to the Woods and quit reporting...
Course reporting 3 Shellcracker and a 12 inch Bass didn't seem all that important anyways.
FWC has this thing called Trophy Catch. I'm thinking discrimation against the local ditch fishermen.
Just cause I'm broke and can't afford a 63 Rybovich don't mean my stringer of Yellowbelly Catfish and a 3 pound Bass don't count...just sayin
Ruth...Just stay the hell home. I got a Greyhound Bus ticket for your sister Maria..She got a Green Card ?
I don't care either way but her hourly Rate goes way down if I got to worry about the Feds busting in my door.

Not going to join in the "fun" on this thread - but I do value every lady that fishes on my small skiff. For those ladies not aware - in the backcountry of the Everglades there's campsites with Porta-potties at regular intervals... They're actually clean and well maintained for visitors. True wilderness fishing - but with some convenience. Now all you have to do is convince boyfriend, husband, etc. to book a trip...
Some years back, an old boy booked a trip to take his grandsons fishing... when they showed up those "grandsons" turned out to be grandaughters - a pair of eight year old twins.. It was a great day - and I'd be glad to have them on board again. By this time, though, they're probably grown and might even have kids of their own.. Just nothing like the 'glades..
